Tove Janssonin satavuotissyntymäpäivää on juhlittu näyttävästi ympäri maailmaa ja juhlavuoden kunniaksi valmistunut animaatioelokuva Muumit Rivieralla on kerännyt Suomessa jo 157 376 katsojaa. American Film Marketissa tällä viikolla elokuva myytiin mm. Australiaan ja Benelux-maihin. Muumit Rivieralla on myyty nyt jo lähes 40 maahan.

Syyskuussa 2015, Muumit Rivieralla tulee ensi-iltaan Australiassa ja Uudessa-Seelannissa. “Olen erittäin iloinen, että saamme kuulua laajennettuun Muumiperheeseen”, kommentoi elokuvan levittäjä, Madman Entertainmentin, toimitusjohtaja Paul Wiegard.

Englanninkielisessä versiossa on ääniroolin saanut Maria Sid, joka kuultiin Suomessa Muumimamman äänenä. Maria Sidiä kuullaan ensi syyskuussa Australiassa, Uudessa Seelannissa, Englannissa ja Irlannissa pienessä roolissa rikkaana koiranomistaja, joka haluaa nähdä Muumimamman puutarhaluomuksen.

Victory Productions tuo elokuvan teatterilevitykseen Belgiassa, Alankomaissa ja Luxemburgissa. Aiemmin tässä kuussa Vertigo ilmoitti levittävänsä elokuvan teattereihin Iso-Britanniassa ja Irlannissa. Vertigon Rupert Preston totesi: “Olemme riemuissamme saadessamme tuoda Muumit britti-yleisölle. Muumeilla on täällä valtava fanijoukko – sekä aikuiset että lapset tulevat rakastamaan elokuvaa.”

Helmikuussa 2015 Gebeka Films lanseeraa elokuvan Ranskan teattereissa, Phantom Japanin teatterisaleissa ja Praesens sveitsiläisissä teattereissa.

Englanninkielisessä versiossa Muumin äänenä on palkittu brittinäyttelijä Russell Tovey (The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Grabbers). Nathaniel Parker (Merlin, Stardust, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) on Muumipappa ja Tracy Ann Oberman (EastEnders, Filth) on Muumimamma. Stephanie Winiecki esittää Niiskuneitiä. Pikku Myyn roolissa kuullaan Ruth Gibson. Philippe Smolikowski on Muumipapan uusi sydänystävä, Markiisi Mongaga. Dave Browne on Niiskuneitiä viekoitteleva hienosto-playboy Clark Tresco. Shelley Blond on Audrey Glamour. Muissa rooleissa kuullaan mm. Maria Sid, Beata Harju, Kris Gummerus ja Glyn Banks.

Happy September! The final production stages of the film are in full swing, and our Finnish premiere on October 10th is just around the corner. Hopefully everyone has had a lovely summer, and remember to take some time of for a cup of coffee or a fishing trip with good friend like Snufkin.

A sinking pirate ship circled by sharks and the arrival of Mymble and her sister Little My, after escaping their captors, momentarily disrupts the tranquil world of Moominvalley. Before long, the Moomin family decide that a trip to the Riviera is called for, in order to experience high society at first hand and recover from their high-sea shenanigans. A name change to ‘De Moomin’ secures them access to the best hotel in town, where Snorkmaiden finds herself instantly enchanted by the power of celebrity and Moominpappa is seduced by the lure of wealth and title. However, the rest of the family seem less impressed by this superficial world. Tove Jansson’s much-loved characters have never looked better than they do in this glorious, hand-drawn animated tale that will appeal to even the youngest of audiences and is released in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jansson’s birth.
